Tapahtumien kuvaus: Constable Frans Suominen was patrolling on horse together with Constable Martti Tuomi. At 7:30 pm, they spotted a drunken man named Taavi Tuomaala on Räntämäenkatu. When they tried to arrest him, he began shooting at them, hitting Suominen. The police returned fire, hitting Tuomaala three times. Suominen had become a police officer of the Pori Police Department in 1921 and had later served in the Border Guard and the Turku Fire Department before joining the Turku Police Department on 1.5.1926.
