Tapahtumien kuvaus: At 11:30 am on November 11th, 1954, Detectives Jaakko Pelttari and Frans Valmunen of the criminal investigation division went to arrest Keijo Alho, PhD, at his home on Pihlajatie. Alho had disturbed the peace and threatened to use a handgun. The policemen arrived and asked Alho’s wife where her husband was. Alho suddenly appeared and began shooting at Valmunen and Pelttari. Pelttari managed to crawl out of the flat and return fire from the stairway, and moments later Valmunen also managed to get out. When the police surrounded the flat, Alho tried to leave by climbing down the vines along the outer wall. He fell down, however, and the police arrested him. Detective Valmunen died in hospital.
