Tapahtumien kuvaus: Senior Constable Ritala and Auxiliary Constable Kaarlo Haavisto went to the village Otsola in Yläne to search for deserter Uuno Jorma Kalevi Tuominen in his home. Tuominen was hiding in his bedroom, where no lamp was lit. When Ritala stepped into the room, Tuominen shot him. Tuominen was arrested on 19.3.1943 in the village Löytyne in Säkylä, where he was hiding in Kalle Verner Lehtonen’s sauna. During the exchange of bullets, Tuominen wounded Constable Yrjö Hongisto of the Mobile Police Detachment. Tuominen himself was also wounded during the arrest. Ritala had been a police officer since 1923.
