Tapahtumien kuvaus: On 27.12.1929 at 5 pm, Detective Lauri Tanner was found lying dead on the street at Virastokatu 8. A knife wound was found on the chest. The killer, Yrjö Veijalainen, was arrested in Kirvu on New Year’s Eve. Tanner had been a police officer since 1917, initially in Turku. He had served in the Detective Central Police since 1922, working in its Turku and Vyborg departments.
