Tapahtumien kuvaus: On the morning of Sunday, the 9th of July, several people were killed at the villa of Director Nils Oskar Fagerström in Leppävaara. Fagerström had previously been married to Ulla Sandman, and when their union ended in divorce, Ulla was given custody of their nine-year-old son Rolf. In the morning, Sheriff Winberg went to the villa together with Ulla Sandman, Engineer Sandman and Constable Sigurd Karlsson to pick up Rolf. They arrived at 9:30 am, and the Sheriff knocked on the door, asking Fagerström to open. Fagerström refused, saying that he had to get dressed first. When he did not open the door despite repeatedly being asked to do so, Winberg and Karlsson broke the window of the veranda and climbed inside. As they were looking for a way to open the door to the house, Fagerström began shooting into the veranda. Winberg was standing only one metre from the door and was hit before he could take cover. Fagerström next aimed at Karlsson, who had, however, managed to jump out through the window and was running to call for backup. Mrs Sandman, who had been standing on the steps in front of the door, was hit by one of Fagerström’s bullets and died. Sheriff Winberg died moments later at the scene. Engineer Sandman, who had been standing on the other side of the house, survived. When more policemen arrived and entered the house, they found that Fagerström had killed his son and then himself.
