Tapahtumien kuvaus: On 29.12.1957, the police in Isokyrö were informed that a farmer named Einari Hyvärinen had left his house carrying a shotgun. Constables Lauri Heinonen and Tauno Tulimäki followed his footsteps, and at 2:40 am, they reached a remote barn. When Heinonen was within a distance of ten metres, Hyvärinen opened fire at him. Risto Tammi, who had come to help Heinonen, was also hit by a bullet. The wounded were taken to hospital. Hyvärinen managed to get away but was later spotted at 9:30 am in the vicinity of the train station at Orismala. When he was apprehended, he shot at Sergeant Martti Haaparanta as well. The seriously wounded Heinonen died at the provincial hospital in Seinäjoki on 1.1.1958.
