Tapahtumien kuvaus: Jukka Kalevi Mörsäri and Pertti Elias Jauhola were robbing the Cooperative Bank in Tornio. Sergeant Mustakangas, who was off duty, happened to be on the parking lot outside of the bank and noticed that something was going on. Inside the bank, the robbers forced two customers to lie down on the floor. One of them ran out, however, and Mörsäri followed. Sergeant Mustakangas was about to enter the bank to find out what was going on when Mörsäri appeared at the door and shot him to death. The murder weapon had been stolen from a sports equipment store during a burglary one year earlier. The two men were caught a few hours after the robbery, and all the money they had stolen, about 50,000 marks, was returned.
