Tapahtumien kuvaus: In the morning of July 5th 1925, Penttinen and another police officer were sent to a flat on Kolmas linja 12. The resident, a night guard named Salminen, was intoxicated and had threatened his wife with a revolver. When the policemen forced their way into the flat, Salminen shot Penttinen in the abdomen. Penttinen was immediately taken to the Surgical Hospital, where surgery was carried out immediately. However, Penttinen died soon afterwards. Penttinen was originally from Kangasniemi and had been an officer of the Helsinki Police Department since 1919.
