Tapahtumien kuvaus: Junior Constable Liimatainen went to arrest a vagrant named Santtu, who was known to be staying at the cottage of the widow Mrs Sandelin in Kymönkoski. Santtu had committed many crimes and had boasted that he would not be easy to catch. When Liimatainen opened the door to the cottage, Santtu, who was waiting for him, immediately opened fire. Liimatainen was hit but managed to return fire, killing Santtu instantly. Liimatainen crawled out into the yard, where his dead body was discovered.
