Tapahtumien kuvaus: On 14.6.1928, Prohibition Detectives Paavo Hämäläinen, Armas Pulli and Iivari Peltoniemi went to Humaljoki to intercept a car carrying illegal alcohol. On the shore they saw a group of men who were loading alcohol containers into a car. The three men, Anton Niemi, Antti Mononen and Antti Miettinen, were arrested. The policemen decided to take the arrestees and their can to Koivisto. Peltoniemi drove the police car while Pulli and Hämäläinen transported the arrestees with the seized car. After a while, Peltoniemi noticed that he could no longer see the other car behind him, so he turned back to look for it. On the road, he met two merchants named Sihvonen and Seppinen, and they said that they had just seen two men lying on the side of the road. They returned to that portion of the road and found Pulli and Hämäläinen some 100 metres apart. They had been shot, and although they were still alive, they both died as they were lifted into the car. Peltoniemi drove to Koivisto and summoned all police officers in the area as well as the Civil Guard to search for the killers. Their car, which had been driven into the forest at high speed, was found abandoned at 10 pm in the village of Kolkkala in Kuolemajärvi. The car, which was registered to Antti Miettinen, contained 210 litres of alcohol. One of the men was arrested in Koivisto at 4 am, another in Perkjärvi between 8 and 9 am.
