Tapahtumien kuvaus: On the evening of April 17th, Sheriff Korhonen summoned Constable Hannes Monni to his office. Monni asked if he could come later since he was having a meal, but Korhonen insisted upon seeing him immediately. Korhonen had heard from taxi driver Onni Laitinen that Monni was operating an illegal taxi business, and Korhonen wanted to confront Monni about this. The discussion turned into an argument, and Monninen drew his pistol and fired three shots at Korhonen. Next, Monni went to the village where he saw Laitinen, the taxi driver who had reported him to the Sheriff. Monni fired two shots at Laitinen, but he missed his target and instead hit Unto Kiljunen, who was sitting beside Laitinen. After the shooting, Monni went to the police station where he turned himself in.
