Tapahtumien kuvaus: In February 1918, Constables Kotilainen and Niininen were sent to the village of Uuranen to investigate a case of stolen hay. On the way there they were ambushed by a group led by Nikolai Raiski, which was hiding in the forest. The group opened fire against both constables as they arrived. Kotilainen and Niininen died instantly. The perpetrators buried them in the forest and fled to the neighbouring village. They were later brought to justice for what they had done.
