Tapahtumien kuvaus: On 16.9.1938, Toivo Hohti was handed a prison sentence for selling unlicensed alcohol. That evening at 9 pm he went on a rampage to take revenge on three women whom he suspected of having informed the police about his activities. First, Hohti went to the Ahola family farm, where he fired several shots at its mistress Edla Ahola and her daughter Terttu Ahola. Next, he went to the Lehtovaara family farm, where he shot its mistress Tyyne Lehtovaara and also fired shots at his own sister, who happened to be there on a visit. Terttu Ahola and Tyyne Lehtovaara died instantly, Edla Ahola died in hospital on 21.9.1938. During Hohti’s shooting spree, neighbours went to inform Constable Sakala, who lived in Inkeroinen. Hohti noticed what was happening and hurried to the house where another constable named Pakkala lived. However, Pakkala was sleeping and the door was locked, so Hohti continued towards Sakala’s house. When Hohti arrived, he entered the hallway and fired at the floor. Sakala heard the shot and left the house through another door. Hohti sneaked to the other side of the house, encountered Sakala and fired two shots at him. Hohti then ran into the forest, where he was chased until the early hours of the next day. The chase ended with Hohti shooting himself.
