Tapahtumien kuvaus: Detective Vuorinen was patrolling with two other police officers at Lahti Railway Station on the morning of 19.4.1923. They encountered a man who was carrying alcohol in his backpack, which was illegal during Prohibition. Vuorinen was going to take the man to the police station while his two colleagues remained at the railway station. When Vuorinen and the arrestee reached Rautiontie, the latter suddenly pulled out a pistol from his pocket and fired several shots at Vuorinen. The shooter managed to get away despite being pursued, and Vuorinen died on the way to hospital. Kustaa Vuorinen had been a police officer since 1921.
