Tapahtumien kuvaus: On February 17th 1920 at 6:30 pm, Heiskanen was about to arrest the unemployed dockworker Karl Hjalmar Sylvander at the corner of Viides linja and Porthaninkatu. Sheet metal worker Armas Oskar Väkinen and Oskar Lehto came to defend Sylvander. Väkinen stabbed Heiskanen with a knife in the back and chest, and the three men then ran away. Heiskanen was taken to the Surgical Hospital where he died at 8:30 pm. Heiskanen had been a police officer since 1.12.1918. The perpetrators were later arrested.
