Tapahtumien kuvaus: On the evening of 26.3.1957, Sergeant Jaakko Rimppi and Detective Uuno Lassinaro investigated a case of arson and homicide in Itä-Aure. Near the site of the arson, they saw a man lying on the ground on a pair of skis, and upon closer inspection, they found that he had been shot to death. They identified the man as August Pohja and went to his house to question another member of the Pohja family, Antti. When they approached the house, Antti Pohja, who lay in wait in the attic, began shooting at them with a military rifle, killing Lassinaro and Rimppi instantly. Three others, Wilderness Officer Heino, Erkki Lepistö and Erkki Riitijoki, were wounded. Pohja stepped out of the house to look at the men he had shot. He noticed that Heino was moving and shot at him again. However, Heino managed to return fire, wounding Pohja. Pohja realised that he would not be able to get away, and he shot himself.
