Tapahtumien kuvaus: On 7.11.1933 at 2:30 pm, the Sheriff of Sipoo and Sergeant Granberg went to Jordas’s house in Lindkoski, Lapinjärvi, to arrest a man named Arthur Malmberg, who was believed to have committed larceny in Sipoo. When the policemen arrived, Malmberg was outside of the house digging a ditch. The policemen asked him to come inside with them for questioning. While they were walking, Malmberg suddenly tried to run away, and Granberg fired a warning shot into the air. Malmberg quickly turned around and fired shots of his own at the policemen, instantly killing Granberg. Members of the Lapinjärvi Civil Guard and a police dog from Loviisa were called to the scene. They traced Malmberg to Elimäki, but he managed to get away. Later, the police in Helsinki arrested a drunken man on Katajanokka and took him to the police station. The arrestee identified himself as Sven Eklund from Vaasa. While the police officers were trying to verify his identity, he asked for permission to use the restroom. Once there he tried to close the door behind him, which the constable who was guarding him did not allow. The constable grabbed him, and suddenly a gunshot was heard. The arrestee had shot himself in the chest. He was taken to the Surgical Hospital, but once there he was pronounced dead. The true name of the man proved to be Anders Järnström. The pistol he had shot himself with had been stolen from Sergeant Granberg, whom he had shot in Lapinjärvi.
