Tapahtumien kuvaus: Paavo Silver and Kalle Tommila were getting drunk in the village Salmi in Mouhijärvi. Tommila began shooting randomly with a Browning pistol he was carrying, and he hit Silver in the thigh. Silver was working at the Simola house, and the master of the house chased Tommila away. Angered, Tommila went to get more bullets and returned to the Simola house, firing a dozen shots trying to hit the master. When Iivari Muraja arrived, Tommila shot him in the chest. Major O. Wahlroos, Sheriff of Mouhijärvi, heard about the shooting and sent Constable Arvo Tarkkanen there to restore order and seize Tommila’s weapon. Tarkkanen drove to the scene and parked outside of the Simola house, where Tommila was on the steps. When Tarkkanen got out of the car, Tommila fired two shots at him. Tarkkanen and Muraja were taken to a hospital in Tampere. Sheriff Wahlroos next sent Constable Vuorio of Mouhijärvi and Constable Elomaa of Karku to arrest Tommila. A. Koivisto, foreman at Rosenlew, gave them a ride in his car. When they arrived, the scene was quiet, but they heard that Tommila had gone to a cabin on the Simola property. Tommila opened fire and hit Elomaa in the chest. Elomaa died on the way to the hospital. Upon inspection, the Sheriff concluded that Tommila had received only minor wounds.
