Tapahtumien kuvaus: Police constable Salo was investigating a stabbing that had taken place the day before, and he went to Koijärvi to arrest the suspect Vilho Wessman. Salo rode his bicycle into Wessman’s yard and was spotted by Wessman. Wessman approached him and began shooting at him with a Mauser. Salo tried to run away but was hit and fell to the ground. Wessman continued shooting at him even after this, firing eight shots in total. Wessman fled to his home in the village Huhtaa in Humppila, where he hid in an oat field. The Civil Guard surrounded the field. Wessman fired several shots at the guards but eventually shot himself. The 26-year-old Wessman died at the hospital in Forssa during the night.
